When the news of HSBC’s Gorseinon branch being earmarked for closure broke last month, I organised to meet with HSBC to discuss the planned closure and to raise my concerns and those of the local community about the impact of closure on Gorseinon, and on people’s ability to access banking services.

HSBC has duty of care to their customers and the community that has supported their business for decades and in light of the meeting I have written to HSBC to request that they;
While I am incredibly disappointed that HSBC still plan to go ahead with the closure, particularly at a time when the need for accessible, local services is clearer than ever, I want to make sure that customers are fully prepared for the closure.
I will continue to work with Rebecca Evans MS, and your local city and town councillors to support businesses in Gorseinon and ensure we retain our vibrant, busy, town centre.
