October marks Breast cancer awareness month .
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the U.K., with around 1 in 7 women being diagnosed in their lifetime.
If detected early, there's a good chance of recovery. This is why it's so important to go for screenings when invited, and to check your breasts at home. If you notice any of the changes displayed in the image above, talk to your GP. It may not be breast cancer - 9 out of 10 breast lumps are NOT cancerous - but it's always best to be on the safe side.
Living with breast cancer is tough. As well as the physical symptoms, it can have a huge impact on your mental wellbeing. There is plenty of support out there for you and your family, for anything that is worrying you as you navigate illness and treatment.
