Tonia said that she has listened to many Gower voters who are currently struggling and are afraid for their future. She said, “I know that people are concerned with local issues but they are also concerned with the big issues that affect most families in the UK. Byron Davies has campaigned on a number of local issues which are clearly important and has criticised both the local Council and Welsh Government but has not been able to answer those many working families who are finding life hard at the moment and struggling to make ends meet.
“Too many of us are in low-paid and insecure work. Too many of us fear our children will not enjoy the same opportunities that we have. “We have heard about some people who are in work but still need to use food banks and there are many older people financially supporting their children and grandchildren.” “Why did he vote to public services, to cut £30 a week from disabled people and why did he vote to rob thousands of Gower women from their pension?” Ms Antoniazzi also questioned the MP’s voting record on measures to tackle tax avoidance and tax evasion. Tonia Antoniazzi said: "You and I pay our taxes. So should big companies and the super-rich. "In Parliament, the Conservative MP for Gower has had the chance to take action on tax avoidance and evasion to ensure that the very wealthy pay their fair share. This would have meant more money for the NHS and local services. "Instead, the MP has consistently fought the corner of the super-rich and voted against every measure to help deal with avoidance and evasion. "If elected to represent Gower, I promise to be in the corner of ordinary working people."
